INMOST CAVE WANTS TO HELP PEOPLE CELEBRATE THE MEANING IN MADNESS
THE PROBLEM
Concepts such as recovery, empowerment and autonomy are often used as buzzwords in mental health care. However, without an evolution in the dominant schools of thought in care, these concepts quickly lose their original meaning and depth .
Of course, there are different schools of thought within the medical world. But generally speaking, there is little room for a philosophical, contextual, pragmatic or spiritual approach to madness . In the medical model, people are sick and are treated by an expert. Participation in their treatment is often limited to the frameworks and possibilities that are visible within this dominant school of thought.
In this way , people are reduced to patients with a new 'sick' identity, and adjusted life expectations. People are generally not encouraged to give meaning to their own experiences and to try out different streams of thought. This is the opposite of recovery, empowerment and autonomy.
Experts by experience risk losing their unique voice by being absorbed into group norms when working in the system, which weakens their perspective. This leaves underlying issues such as human rights, stigma and power relations unaddressed .

YOU ARE THE SOLUTION!
How can we, as a society, ensure that everyone has the space to give meaning to their own experiences?
Inmost Cave aims to provide an answer to this by giving people permission to reclaim their story and explore other philosophies of madness. We transform stigma into pride, passivity into action, and exclusion into power. Here we build a movement where voices are heard - pun intended . Where you remain the sovereign owner of your process and can define yourself with or without diagnoses. We search for meanings that heal us and to do so, we put on our brave shoes that dare to leave the beaten path.
We build grassroots support networks for ourselves and those around us, seeing psychological or spiritual crisis as a positive opportunity for growth . We are a creative laboratory for collective healing , caring as stewards for ourselves and our environment.

The mischief to claim sovereignty over our inner world to reclaim and determine the meaning of our experiences ourselves. It is the power to seek alternatives . It is the courage to discuss themes such as human rights, power dynamics and beliefs that maintain inequality and oppression.
What if we would shed all our beliefs? Who would we be if we focused on our strengths and desires , instead of our limitations and limits? Which authentic voice wants to be heard from deep within our core? What are our deepest needs, and who remains when we let go of the pain? Who am I really? In co-creation you may discover what your unique contribution is

People who lead valuable lives after experiences of disruption are sometimes called survival artists . They have lessons to teach us in meaning-making, creativity, awareness, resilience, mind-expansion, mirroring, intuition, self-discovery and innovation. We want to collect this 'practice based evidence' and translate it into powerful tools that can be used in other companies and organizations.
THE 5 CORE VALUES

Eco over ego! Our recovery is mirrored in that of our community and the earth. Together we build support networks of diversity and solidarity, we strive for caring neighborhoods and we choose cooperation over isolation and connection over individuality. Our individual strength is the sum of the strength of the networks we are part of.
Form, color, word, sound, movement, and image are the visionary's tools to to leave the beaten path and let artistic alchemy arise. We let ourselves be guided by inspiration & intuition . This includes the imagination to surrender to the mystery and the not-knowing. To dream a new world.
